People post what’s keeping them up at night, what they’re hoping for, what they can’t say anywhere else. Other people answer. Some posts have a dozen replies and some have none yet — the board shows you both, because the ones with none are the reason this exists.

My sister and I spoke for the first time since our father’s funeral. It was four minutes long and I have thought about nothing else since.

Chapter 2
Write it the way you’d say it
One box. No categories, no tags, no minimum length. Add a heading if it helps, or don’t. You can save a draft and come back to it, and a draft is yours alone — nobody reads it and nothing scans it.
Every signed-in member can read what you post. More fine-grained sharing and visibility settings are coming. Once a post has its first response it stays where it is — moving it would change who can see a conversation other people are already part of.
The chemo starts Monday and I have been pretending to my daughter that I am not frightened. I would like to stop pretending for five minutes somewhere.
A header is optional. Nothing else is required.

The part that actually matters
Anyone can answer anyone. A few words are enough — thinking of you today is a real answer, and many of them are about that short.
There’s a view of posts nobody has answered yet, oldest first. If you have a little to spare, that’s the best place to start.

People may share things here they haven’t said out loud.
We’re building this to be safe for people from very different backgrounds. There are clear guidelines in plain language, and if something you post gets flagged, you’re told and you can ask us to look again.
Making this a safe and welcoming space is not something we can do alone. It is a shared responsibility, and it works when members are kind and look out for each other.

Never public without your say-so. Nothing indexed. Nothing sold.
Your posts are visible to members and to nobody else unless you choose otherwise. Not to search engines, not to the logged-out web, not to advertisers — there’s no advertising or tracking code on any page where a post appears. More ways to choose who sees what are coming, including making a post public yourself.
Anything our moderation tools flag is read by a person, and we keep a record of who looked. You can take everything you’ve written with you, or delete all of it, without asking us and without explaining why.
