Something happens — a diagnosis, a birth, a decision you can’t make alone — and you want to say it out loud. Not always to be fixed. Often just so it isn’t only yours to carry.

People have done this for as long as there have been people, in every tradition, under a hundred different names. Prayer is one. Sitting with someone is another. So is holding a person in mind on a hard day.

PrayerGroup.Live is a place for that: share a prayer, a worry, a hope — and find that real people are quietly holding you in theirs.

Room for every tradition, and for people still working it out

Whether you pray every day or aren’t sure what you believe, whether you come from a deep tradition or from none at all — you’re welcome here. You choose what you share, and how close to your own tradition you’d like to stay. Finer control over who sees what is on the roadmap.

Built for every kind of participant

Some people come to share what’s on their heart, some to pray for a stranger, some to read quietly and never post at all, some to bring their people together, some to lend a skill. Every one of those makes a place like this work, and we’re building a space that works for everyone.

For conveners

If you lead a congregation, a prayer group, or just a handful of friends who check in on each other — this is being built with you in mind. Groups you control, events you run, and a way to stay close to members who’ve moved far away. Your group, your rules, your rhythm.

Our guiding principles

A few things we’ve settled up front, so you don’t have to wonder:

• Safe. Every post is screened, the guidelines are public, and a person always makes the final call.
• Private and secure. Your words are yours — members only by default, encrypted in transit and at rest, never sold, and yours to delete anytime. Soon, yours to share with only the people you choose.
• Accessible. We build toward WCAG 2.2 AA. If you use a screen reader, a keyboard, or an older phone, this was designed for you from the first screen — not retrofitted later.
• Free, and no ads. Asking for prayer and offering it are free, always. And there is no advertising anywhere a prayer appears.
• Careful with AI. AI helps us find what needs a person’s attention, and that is all it does. It never speaks, never prays, and never pretends to be a person.

We’d rather earn your trust slowly than borrow your attention cheaply.

Who’s building this

PrayerGroup.Live is built by Umunhum Labs LLC, two founders in the San Francisco Bay Area, part of the same human journey as everyone else. Self-funded — no investors, no advertisers. More about us on the company site.

We’re just getting started

The prayer space is the first piece. Groups, events, and a good deal more are close behind — and we’re shipping fast, with the people who got here early.

Right now that’s a small group. That’s on purpose: we’d rather grow steadily with people who care than fill a room quickly. If you’d like to help shape what this becomes, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
